Disney takes us to another adventure and this time set in the distant future as Tron: Legacy takes us to a world unlike anything we’ve seen.

The Plot

Sam Flynn, a rebellious 27-year-old, is haunted by the mysterious disappearance of his father Kevin Flynn, a man once known as the world’s leading video-game developer. When Sam investigates a strange signal sent from the old Flynn’s Arcade—a signal that could only come from his father—he finds himself pulled into a digital world where Kevin has been trapped for 20 years. With the help of the fearless warrior Quorra, father and son embark on a life-and-death journey across a visually-stunning cyber universe—a universe created by Kevin himself that has become far more advanced with never-before-imagined vehicles, weapons, landscapes and a ruthless villain who will stop at nothing to prevent their escape.

The Movie

Producer Steven Lisberger co-wrote and directed the original Tron (1982). Daft Punk, a Grammy award-winner, composes the music in the film. Jeff Bridges returns to the new movie as his original character, Kevin Flynn, in Tron (1982).

Tron: Legacy furnaces a new frontline in filmmaking as they going to treat us to mind blowing technologies by being the first 3D movie to integrate a fully digital head and body based on the existing actor. It is also the first movie to use self-illuminated costumes and they are molded using digital sculpture. It is also the first 3D movie to use 35mm lenses and recorded as uncompressed HD Video.

The Event

Selected people from around the world can get a 20 minute sneak peek of Tron. The event dubbed as “Tron Night: An IMAX 3D Experience” is a special event on October 28, 2010 that will give the audience the first step on the grid. Never before seen 3D footages will provide fans a thrilling, visually stunning first hand experience on the biggest 3D movie of the year.

“This first-look in IMAX 3D is the most immersive way to bring audiences into the world of ‘TRON: Legacy’ and kick-off the countdown to the film’s highly-anticipated launch,” says Greg Foster, Chairman and President of IMAX Filmed Entertainment.
