Stop Abortion | Go Adoption

Just recently I was able to read a very alarming essay from Burn Magazine online. It talked about a case of teenage pregnancy which is very personal to me.“The one who got me pregnant was my cousin. He is not my boyfriend. In one bed, there are three of us…I am the only girl beside two boys…The one who got me pregnant is my cousin who is 13 years old. When I sleep, I really do not feel anything….When I woke up I felt…I wondered why my opening was painful.” Those are words from Jessica, 16 years old,  Quezon City, Philippines.Children are everywhere, tangible evidence of the city’s teenage pregnancy problem. Every year, 13 out of 100 girls aged between 15 and 19 of the Filipino population get pregnant. Health care for Manila’s urban poor is almost nonexistent, while opportunities to learn about contraception in this strictly Catholic country are rare.Abortion in whatever way you see is never the right thing to do but if you would want a better life for the both of you, it is however be…

Weird facts about me

Did you know…
that my cap was snatched from my head while I was inside the PUJ?
We were inside the jeep on our way home when passed the area leading to Pier 3 when suddenly a man just swiftly walked by when traffic lights turned red and took my cap from me and ran away. That was bizarre and weird.that I bring along an alcohol sprayer in my pocket daily?
When H1N1 scare broke out and government reminding us of the importance of washing our hands my dad bought a sprayer and have us fill it with great smelling Casino to bring everywhere.that I love cats and dogs sooo much?that I hate Chiz?that I’m obsessed with taking photos? I have this fascination of immortalizing great moments and even humdrum ones because I always think that time passes by and that no one else can take them back.that I listen to Gavin de Graw? and to Micheal Buble, HSM 3, Flo-rida, Akon, Charice, Chris Brown, Cook and Archuleta, Daughtry, Jonas Brothers, Katy Perry, and Britney on my way home?that I love movi…

Strong Leader’s Greatest Quotes | PGMA’s SONA 2009 Highlights

The following are the greatest lines of most probably the biggest most explosive and outright entertaining State of the Nation Address the world has yet to ponder and it came from no less than her Excellency and my political idol, President Gloria Arroyo. The past twelve months have been a year for the history books. Financial meltdown in the West spread throughout the world...

Tens of millions lost their jobs; billions across the globe have been hurt—the poor always harder than the rich. No one was spared....
It has affected us already.
But the story of the Philippines in 2008 is that the country weathered a succession of global crises in fuel, in food, then in finance and finally the economy in a global recession, never losing focus and with economic fundamentals intact...The state of our nation is a strong economy.  Good news for our people, bad news for our critics...I did not become President to be popular. To work, to lead, to protect and preserve our country, …

Vote for Chiz Escudero 2010

Read on and see what the youth has to say about this irritating political icon. I made this internet poster in support of him anyway. Haha.daveigh: I'm still in the process of checking his credentials. Ayoko padala sa mga TV appearances nya...MingTsai:  nope. another trapo in the making. puro dakdak lang, papogi sa tv, kulang naman sa aksyon.funzen: NOPE. Like the other posts here, he's just full of words. Nakakainis pa syang magsalita. Ang lalim magtagalog. Walang nang ganun magsalita ngayon. I wonder if he speaks the same way when talking to his rich friends. Sa akin kase, kun ano ka sa mga kaibigan mo, dapat ganun ka rin sa ibang tao. Lalo na sa pagsasalita. Trapo na trapo ang dating nya e.soltera81: HINDI! Trapo sya, plastic.

We lost another cat…

Goodbye Mitchie. You haven’t been home for a few days now. You left a lot of daughters and sons behind. Wherever you are now I pray your safety if not your peace. You were a good mom, we could tell by the way you still breast feed your much older children while at the same time nursing your two newborns who btw are so adorable and cute but are still nameless. Don’t worry on the babies, we have developed a system of making them drink milk by spoon feeding it to them. We love you!

My Bangga sa Kinaadman 2009 Experience

Last July 24, I attended an interschool competition. It can be very nerve-wracking and stressful with expectations surrounding. I hoped Ms. Noela shouldn’t have shared it during the orientation days ago. I didn’t even shared it with my closest friends so that defeat will be much easier to accept. The first time I knew that I would be representing the school along with Lorbe, I was ecstatic but what quickly drenched in fear and excusable pressure. After a week, we were trained by Ms. Veda on general knowledge specifically on Nutrition, Climate Change, Current Events, and Traffic Rules. We also did a crash review on heads of state and heads of government. What’s great about that day was that I have a new T-shirt given by the school and snacks, drinks, and travel allowance by the school plus the snacks catered by the organizers at the venue. I have to admit, I’m a big fan of food and everyone who would want to swoop me over has to feed me.We thought the topics given would theme the questio…

Erap shamed on Election Forum at Plaza Miranda

Former President Joseph Estrada, Pampanga Governor Ed Panlilio, and Senators Loren Legarda, Richard Gordon, Francis Escudero, and Manuel Roxas signed the covenant at a forum organized by election watchdog groups at the historic Plaza Miranda in Manila. On a question about morality, Gordon said there should be no pardon for convicted persons because such did not set a good example to the public, as Estrada looked on.Estrada was convicted of plunder but was pardoned by President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo.Asked how he intended to curb corruption, Estrada delivered his famous line that if elected, he would spare no one who would steal the people's money."That's easy to solve, as long as there is certainty of punishment, basta siguradong parurusahan ang kamag-anak, kapatid [As long as it’s sure that the relative, brother will be punished]...” Estrada said. [read the rest]I’m not saying he deserved that but he did. He should’ve listened to himself.Had he have done so, the followin…

Trash into Cash | Honest maid returns back | Mildred Perez and her story of dignity

Honest HK maid back in Philippines
By Niña Catherine Calleja MANILA, Philippines — The 38-year-old Filipino maid in Hong Kong who earned praise for returning the cash and checks amounting to P2.1 million which she found in a garbage bin arrived Tuesday afternoon at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 3.Mildred Perez arrived 1 p.m. on board a Cebu Pacific flight and was welcomed by the hugs and kisses of her two children.Perez was jobless in Hong Kong and struggling to pursue a sexual assault charge against her former employer when she found the cash and checks in a garbage bin on April 29. (Migrant workers with pending cases against their employers in Hong Kong cannot hold jobs.)Instead of pocketing the money, Perez called up the company whose name was in the documents to return the cash and checks. She was given a can of cookies for her deed. No words could ever describe how noble a Filipino could be in a world were we are considered just a help. She had the motive t…

Estrada disgraces Arroyo mishandled medical background

Philippine Daily Inquirer July 11, 2009 :MANILA, Philippines — No need for the National Bureau of Investigation to step in.This was the reaction of former President Joseph Estrada to a report that the bureau would investigate who had leaked the story of President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo’s breast implants to the media.“I cannot understand why the NBI is using its resources looking for the doctors who talked about the medical attention given to you know who, when there are so many cases of killings, incidences of ambush assassinations, bombings and other heinous crimes that need to be investigated,” Estrada told members of the Manila Medical Society who invited him as guest speaker for its 107th foundation anniversary on Thursday.“Ang masasabi ko lang, NBI, huwag naman ninyong dibdibin ang kasong ito,” he added. (All I can say to the NBI is not to take this seriously)The Palace made it clear that it had not instructed the NBI to investigate but given the situation that one of the greate…

Pacquiao is 6th highest paid athlete in the world

Image says:The highest-ranking of the four newcomers to the list is boxer Manny Pacquiao who earned $40 million over the last year, tied for the sixth most. Pacquiao cemented his claim as the world's best pound-for-pound fighter with convincing knockouts of Oscar De La Hoya in December and Ricky Hatton in May. The two blockbuster fights garnered more than 2 million pay-per-view buys in the U.S. and earned Pac-Man $30 million combined.Pacquiao's massive popularity in his native Philippines is why companies like Nike and San Miguel beer have signed him to endorse their products. Pacquiao intends to use that popularity to run for political office when his ring career is over.[1]All I can say is wow. He is blessed. And charitable too. If you Google, “Pacquiao charity” that’s 329,000 hits. He is a realization of the idea that it isn’t your fault you were born poor but it is your fault if you die like one. And from what I can see he’d lie in a glass coffin when time comes with …
