AMA Cebu Intramurals 2008

We had like Intrams this November and I gotta say the week-long event was a blast! I belonged to Red team and was officiating Scrabble. We might not have won parlor games nor basketball men and women but our team sure did bag the First Place in Cheerdance Competition which was held at the awarding ceremonies in the beautiful beach in Blue Reef, Lapu-lapu City.
And here’s a video that I’ve taken appearing as if I was just playing with my phone to my unsuspecting friends.

What Happened To My Sister On Our Weekend Fishing Trip

Not too long ago, my family and I went to a rundown yet scenic fishing pond a few minutes drive from home and ate freshly caught catfish for lunch. It was nothing short of a great time. View was spectacular as all cottages that you rent out dotted the corners and all face the huge pond. The name of the pond itself is tacky and a no-brainer, D'Pond.

And a funnier thing happened that day, my sister was almost washed away into the middle of the pond as the Styrofoam platform she stood on to catch fish wasn’t actually anchored to the ground. Don’t worry when she cried for help my dad came to the rescue. I was able to capture a picture perfect photo of the moment before she panicked but I was definitely laughing it all off.

Check this map out and plan your next trip with family or friends this weekend at D'Pond! If you were there share your experience on the comments below!

Your brief psychological profile in your past life:

3M's security glass

One of the world's greatest company thinks they've made the glass that everyone couldn't just break open. They have come up with a simple yet brilliant advertising scheme to let people on a bus stop have a chance at getting a stack of money if they could break this glass using nothing else but a feet. Don't you wish computer and mp3 screens were made out of this too? But to be honest it was only $500 and the rest was fake. Nonetheless, this PR stunt is amazing. I could just wonder if James Bond came with a machine gun and a suitcase.

Best animation ever

I was definitely thrilled upon knowing a web app from Adobe, online photo editing, hosting and sharing tool known as

seamless animated gif background

Using my StumbleUpon Firefox toolbar, I was able to stumble through a very interesting website that makes use of an animated gif of people walking around platforms and mechanized levers all looking like everythings connected. It takes a genius to create something like this. Simple but Awesome.

Watch it live here.

Britney: For The Record - Dance Auditions

America is home to great dancers and the auditions that Britney and her choreographer did was just beyond amazing especiall with the part where the hopefuls sweat it out in front of them. Totally great part of the docu.

womanizer music video

Britney. The Britney. Topping internet search. Plastering headlines all over the world. And now a comeback video with her totally naked. I just don't know what to say but just a simple fact that I've been her fan whatever she does, except marrying a rapper-wannabe. But anyway, this video has great message into it and that is according to John Kordosh of Yahoo Music, "empowering women." The video takes it quite literally. I mean, Britney plays a waitress, a secretary and herself driving her unfaithful lover to a rollercoaster ride. Welcome back aboard, mate.

Dharma Special Access: sneek preview

To those who weren't subscribed to ABC's Dharma Initiative Recruitment, we recieved an exclusive sneek preview of a scene between Ben and Jack. Here's what it contains:

Jack shaves his beard.
Ben prepares some suit on the bed.
"As soon as we get Hurley then what?" Jack asks
"We get Sun, Sayid, Kate, of course."
"I don't see that happening."
Jack walks out and sits on the bed.
"When was the last time you saw him [Locke]?" he asks.
"On the island. In the orchid station below the greenhouse..."

Ben Voice Over: "I told him I was sorry for making his life so miserable. And then he left..."
Ben in jacket walks away from Locke.

Jack looks down and Ben stops to look at him.
"...It's obvious that John's visit to you made an impression. What did he say to make you such a believer?"

"Sawyer, Juliet, everyone from the boat, everyone we left behind, Joh…

Enough of the blahs, this post contains one of the newsletters I recieved from them and the password to view exclusive content from the creators of the show, used a filipino word "kapalaran". Which means "destiny."

4 animated movies in 1 day

It was last Saturday, December 13 when I crouched into the sofa and watched animated movies the whole day. Our TV set might have had its chips burned by afternoon, but what the heck. Anyway, here are some of my reviews of the toon films.

1. Madagascar 2: Escape to Africa

You got to move it, move it!

I haven't seen the first Madagascar Film but Escape to Africa doesn't alienate me at all. It even shows the history of how Alex the Lion made it to New York and back to Madagascar. This movie is really hilarious especially with the presence of oh-so-smart penguins. In addition, Melman the giraffe and Gloria the hippo's romance is driving me crazy. I mean, can you just imagine them mating? But then, at the end of the day, everything is impossible. What's striking about this movie is the strong plot. They all have issues, there are the destructive NYC tourists, conspiracies in the reserve, ostracizing, measuring true friendship, then there's drought.

Rating: Five Stahs!

Make your XP look like Vista

I used Vista Inspirat to Vista-ize my Windows XP theme and it worked almost flawlessly. The taskbar is predictable and it was quite pleasing to have Vista Aero flashing up my screen.

Description :
BricoPack Vista Inspirat is a free pack which modifies Windows XP system files in order to change its appearance and make it look like Windows Vista (the next operating system made by Microsoft).

Vista Inspirat BricoPack is the best way to change quickly and easily your Windows icons, logon and visual style.

But my brother and I worked on a lot of miracle to improve our XP experience. We came up with the following installations:

1. Vista Transformation Pack 9.0

ViSplore - Vista Glass explorer simulator

Vista Drive Icon - adding free space percentage in your drive icon like Vista explorer

Vista Rainbar - Lightweight Vista sidebar based on Rainmeter that even consume less resources than real Vista Sidebar

ViStart - Files indexing for documents search, improved reliability and compatib…

microsoft techfest

I just knew about a convention named "TechFest" where developers all over the world showcase their latest products and services. And I stumbled upon a video of Lucid Touch, an iPhone like phone interface except that you touch it at the back of the screen. Awkward but has lots of great potential. Also on the TechFest site is the new search user interface where you could collaborate with other people on your queries. There's the web service that could make you be alerted with smoke and window-break sensors. Then comes the music steering where listening to music is a breeze among our thousands of songs in our mp3 players.

Yes, Microsoft, with all the bad publicity of Vista, has done well again.

best documentary ever: De La Hoya-Pacquiao

pacquiao dela hoya HBO documentary review

The last time I saw a documentary that was film-like was the Year of the Yao.

Last night, changed the way I saw sports most specifically, Boxing.

Right this very moment, I am watching the Oscar dela Hoya-Pacquiao match. Of course, I've always rooted for our people's champ, Manny but after watching the HBO Documentary last night, my faith to Manny's victory was slightly shaken as I've witnessed that both boxers as juxtaposed side by side was just equally abled sportsmen. HBO was never biased in this piece of art called the 24/7

Dela Hoya, an olympic gold medalist and the most celebrated boxer of his time. Pacquiao, first Filipino-Asian to win four world titles. But the documentary told a more captivating story behind the numbers the paper publish. They chronicled the days that led to the Dream Match. It will make or break any of them and as dela Hoya pointed out something like "our different styles, our different techniques, someday we'll crash."

The Angels: My College Friends

Meet my best nephew, Miggy

Post updated Aug 4, 2014.
I was just all giggles when I stumbled upon this blog post again. Kids have their own way at times. Creativity that reaches out of bounds. My then two-year old silly nephew, Miggy had put on my dad's cap and and wore his socks on his hands one fine day and got busy trying to read a pamphlet by the computer table. It was just too cute to pass up an opportunity to take a snap or two.
He is just like a typical old boy who loves to play around and asks you gazillion questions except the fact that he was too lazy to learn writing since his mom, my sis, was on the edge of preparing him for preschool. This habit may have gone too far then as she had sought for a personal tutor to come over and teach him.

But the most amazing thing about him is his oral communication skills. in a very young age, he has logic, correct sentence construction and cuddly stories to tell all the time. To make him master the language, we have to speak in English in the house when talki…

My review of a review site

I know it's a bit silly but I love the title anyway.

" is a user driven internet startups community.

Entrepreneurs, investors, and bloggers are staying informed on up-and-coming internet startups using our blog platform, where internet entrepreneurs submit their startup to see what others think about it."

Of all the review sites, I'd have to give them a 5/5. Excellent reviews and great sites that has the possibility to unleash great potential like an initiative that aims to unite college students, a site that's a great alternative to Yahoo Answers, or a site that lets you not only track your carbon footprint but as well as reducing it all for free.

And as any web 2.0 sites, you can comment on it, skim through tags, bookmark and share it, and subscribe to their RSS feeds.

"I live this site. It provides a wealth of information about other interesting sites that i wouldn't have stumbled upon on my own." …

Join army in Second Life

Come to think of it, military recruitment online. How futuristic.

I've never played Second Life but what I know is that it's a bit similar to There. And I think the US Government is on the right track when it comes to relating to their prospects. But I still can't get over the fact that maybe one of these days the military might build another map for There and will ask applicants to sign up for military service.

Rock on.
